Goodbye!

Hello Everyone,

At our last board meeting of the year, the Board has voted unanimously to dissolve the BWCF as of year end.

We have been sponsoring events and sending funds to various organizations and individuals helping women in our community over the past eight years. The Board, even with relocation, illness, and career stresses has continued to strive to maintain our mission. However, the results from these efforts, even with additional assistance from newer volunteers, has continued to diminish. We will continue to serve individually many of the charities which have benefitted previously from the Foundation’s endeavors.  From our last event, Grape Night Out, in November, a final award of $3000 has been made to The Center for Great Expectations.

Thank you to each of you for your contributions over the years… time, gifts, and attendance. I have really enjoyed meeting and working with all of you and feel we have performed a wonderful service for many women in our community. Additionally, I believe we have brought an awareness to many of the community leaders of organizations and individuals less fortunate than ourselves. There are many other organizations that can utilize your skills and attention and I encourage you to get/stay involved.

It really is true that it is far more rewarding to give than to receive.
